LiveWire Supply Recognized by State of California for Outstanding Commitment to Waste Reduction, Innovative Corporate Environmental Policy
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) October 29, 2008 -- LiveWire Supply Company, the Internet's No. 1 electrical supply house, today announced it has been honored by the California Integrated Waste Management Board as one a handful of California businesses leading the charge to reduce waste and demonstrate the highest possible level of corporate social responsibility. The Waste Reduction Awards Program (WRAP) recognizes businesses that develop progressive and creative programs that reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills.
To be considered for a highly coveted and selective WRAP award, California businesses submit applications, which describe in detail the business' waste reduction and recycling efforts. The applications are evaluated by California State Government waste management experts on a set of criteria developed in cooperation with the business community. The State of California endorses the business practices of LiveWire Supply and other WRAP winners that reduce waste and enhance recycling.
Winners from the 2007 calendar year include Apple Inc., 3M Corp., Anheuser-Busch Inc., Chevron, Coca-Cola Inc., Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) and Cupertino Electric. The California Integrated Waste Management Board is expected to announce LiveWire Supply and the rest of the 2008 winners in October.
LiveWire Supply Co. was commended for its innovative and aggressive efforts to eliminate corporate waste, reduce the distance of travel between circuit breaker and transformer products and their destinations and its state of the art "Certified Green" product program. The unique LiveWire "Certified Green" program reintroduces second-generation electrical components into the marketplace, thus significantly reducing the number of non-decomposable parts sent to landfills.
"We are both humbled and honored to be recognized by the State of California by this award, and the company with which we receive it. Some of California's most socially responsible organizations are named among recent winners and it is truly a fantastic experience to see LiveWire named along with them," said Adam Messner, LiveWire Supply Founder and CEO and environmentalist. "We as a company are committed to sustainability in practice and will continue to seek ways to reduce our footprint and set an example for other California businesses."

Pipelines are a system of connected lengths of pipe or joints, and are a safe, efficient, and economical way to move resources. The system of pipes is buried in the earth and can be used for transporting petroleum, natural gas, water, and other materials.
